XR-US Data Fusion for Non-Destructive Evaluation of Steel Components

چکیده
The paper aims at presenting a framework for visual inspection and defect detection of steel pipe welds in chemical and nuclear power plants. Pipe welds are examined by means of X-ray (XR) and ultrasound (US) sensors; collected data are separately processed in order to extract features used in the fusion phase to detect and measure possible defects. Results obtained on real images are presented and discussed.
